Credits and billing

A user action is billed once as a governed task; internal retries and stage records are supporting evidence, not duplicate charges.

CURRENT PRODUCT CAPABILITIES
01

Reserve before, settle after

Before a model or data task starts, Shipsite shows an estimate and reserves a model-aware maximum. After completion, it settles the shared orchestration fee plus actual Shipsite-paid provider cost, then returns unused reserved credits automatically. It does not retroactively charge above the reservation cap.

02

BYOK and provider accounts

When a verified user-owned model or data account pays the provider directly, Shipsite adds no provider-cost credits for that usage. The same orchestration fee still covers contracts, quality checks, evidence, storage, retries, and delivery handoffs.

03

Failure, cancellation, and retry

Tasks that fail before useful execution or reach a final failed state are refunded according to the task settlement. Automatic recovery stays inside the original task and does not add a second orchestration fee. A user-requested new rerun is a new task and gets a new estimate.
